WASHU, "The greatest
Scientist in the universe". My favourite
character in the series, Washu likes to be called
"Little Washu". After leaving Jurai
Space Academy she invented SOUJA, RYOKO and RYO
OHKI. She then spent 20,000 years in suspended
animation after her pupil Kagoto took the Souja.
He then used Washu's creations to attack the
Royal family of Jurai. When released from her
prison she moves into Tenchi's house, Living
under the stairs in her laboratory in pseudo
space, which is the size of several planets.
She has a lot of animosity
towards Mihoshi, is interested in Tenchi (her
guinea pig) and has some connection with Lady
Tokimi and Tsunami. She is in direct telepathic
connection with Ryo-Ohki and to a lesser extent,
Ryoko who she thinks of as her Daughter.

FUNAHO
is Yosho's mother, also the name of Yosho's tree.
She is married to the King Of Jurai. |

MASAKI
is Funaho's sister. Her daughters are Ayeka and
Sasami. She is also extremely emotional.
|
|
THE EMPEROR (AZUSA) of Jurai is wed to Funaho.
He does not approve of his nieces (Ayeka and
Sasami) living on Earth with Tenchi. He allows
them to stay as long as Tenchi can best Seiryo (Ayeka's
Arranged Fiancee) in combat.

SEIRYO
is a suitor brought to Earth by the King. He is
sent to challenge Tenchi in battle, to decide
whether or not Ayeka and Sasami can stay on Earth. |
|
LADY TOKIMI one of the
three Goddesses comes from a different space
dimension. With the help of Dr. Clay she is
looking for Washu, for reasons not apparent in
the series. Lady Tokimi is also interested in
Tenchi and when pressed to explain the 3-Bladed
Light Hawk Wings remains non vocal. |

ZERO is
the robot assistant of Dr. Clay. Can transform
body to that of any other person. In this way
Zero can help Dr. Clay with his various
investigations. |

DOCTOR CLAY or "Octopus Head" as
Washu refers to him, is a scientist who went to
Space Academy the same time as Washu.
Unfortunately he was kicked out and has sworn
retribution on Washu and those that laughed at
him. He likes to collect antiques which he keeps
on his ship "Goddess". |
OTHERS.

The Ship belonging to the King of
Jurai, isn't seen until the final episode. The
King, Funaho and her sister Masaki arrive on it
to check up on Yosho (Funaho and The kings son)
and Ayaka and Sasami ( Masaki's Daughters).

GODDESS is the
ship belonging to Dr. Clay. |
|
Family shrine. It is
set in woodland and has a long flight of steps
from it to the family residence. Tenchi's
grandfather spends time here drinking tea and
composing sayings. Everyone is seen taking turns
sweeping the grounds and generally keeping it
tidy. |

MASAKI
RESIDENCE. This is the house built by
Tenchi's Dad. It is set by a lake and below the
family shrine. Tenchi shares this house with
Mihoshi, Ryoko, Sasame, Ryo-Ohki and Ayeka.
Sometimes Tenchi's grandfather will visit.
Tenchi's dad moves out because it ends up further
away from his workplace. |
